CoolSculpting: How it Works and Results

CoolSculpting is a form of cold therapy that safely destroys fat cells in a non-invasive way. Fat cells do not like cold and will freeze at a certain temperature and die. Your body then naturally breaks down the cells through metabolism over a few months, leaving you with tighter, more finely sculpted skin.

You may be asking yourself, "Why can't you just put a bag of ice on your stomach and do this from home?" CoolSculpting does not turn the fat into ice, but instead extracts heat energy from the cells in a controlled manner at an average temperature of about 39 degrees Celsius.

Results

Immediately after treatment, patients can resume their usual routine and activities. Some patients may experience tingling, swelling, tenderness and redness of the treated area, which will subside within a few days.

You may see results as early as three weeks after treatment, but the most dramatic results occur after a few months, when your body flushes out the treated fat cells, which are gone for good. The results are permanent as long as you stick to a healthy diet and exercise.
